The location station is situated on the Innerste-Rennstieg between Lautenthal and Neuekrug-Hahausen above the Innerste dam.
From the summit, you have a wonderful view of the Innerste dam and the Brocken.
Neolithic and Bronze Age finds prove that the Rennstieg has been used as a communication route and for transporting goods for several millennia. In the 10th century, the Innerste-Rennstieg formed the boundary of the forest belonging to Werla. The northern section of the Rennstieg runs over the Lageswarte.
From the Sternplatz parking lot, which is located above Lautenthal, you can hike to the Lageswarte in connection with the Luchsstein HWN 103 and the Tränkebachhütte HWN 104.
