Stamp point 14 / Schnarcherklippe (refuge)

The Schnarcherklippen (671 m above sea level) are two 28 m high famous „granite towers“, which are located south of Schierke.

In a south-easterly wind, the cliffs make noises similar to snoring. From the highest point of the cliff, which can be climbed via an iron ladder, you have a wonderful view across Schierke to the Hohnekamm and the Erdbeerkopf.

The strong vertical and horizontal structure typical of this area, the so-called wool sack structure, is particularly evident on the rocks.

From the hiking trail in Elendstal, between Schierke and Elend, a path leads over the Mauseklippe to the Schnarcherklippen. The stamp box is located in the nearby hut.

The path between Barenberg and Schnarcherklippen is difficult to walk on due to storm damage. The actual path is no longer recognizable for about 200 m.
