Stamp point 154 / Dreibrodestein

Between Sankt Andreasberg and Sonneberg are the Dreibrodesteine, three oversized blocks of granite formed by the weathering of wool sacks.

According to legend, they were formed from three loaves of bread from a heartless woman who did not want to help a starving miner. With the words „My three loaves should rather become stones“, she ignored the miner and the loaves then grew into huge stones and pressed the woman into the mossy ground. The granite blocks are said to be a warning against heartlessness.

The most convenient starting point is the „Dreibrodesteine“ parking lot, from where you can reach the natural monument after 1 km. From this parking lot, it is also possible to hike the short, barrier-free path to the „Rehberger Grabenhaus“ HWN 155.
