The Prussian Tower stands on the Schwedderberg above the spa gardens in Bad Suderode.

The Magdeburg print shop owner August Baentsch was a regular spa guest in Bad Suderode and, out of gratitude for the healing of his health problems, donated the money for the construction of the first Prussian tower in 1845.
After a tower built in 1885 was demolished during the war years due to dilapidation, a new tower was built on the same site in 1953, but was christened the „Thomas Müntzer Tower“. This building was sponsored by Reinhard Jahn, the owner of the „Stock- und Klappmöbelfabrik“ in Bad Suderode.
After the reunification of Germany, the tower was renamed the Prussian Tower and extensively renovated by a local carpentry firm in 2007. From the tower, you have a far-reaching view from Blankenburg over Quedlinburg to the Gegensteinen near Ballenstedt.
From the spa gardens in Bad Suderode, follow the signposted hiking trail from the Behringer Brunnen fountain to the Preußenturm tower.
