Königsburg Castle (486 m above sea level) is located on the outskirts of Königshütte in the direction of Tanne, slightly elevated on a hill.

It is a noble castle from the 13. / 14th century. Not only have parts of the keep been preserved here, but the moats and ramparts of the castle are also clearly visible. The castle appears to have served to protect the border of the diocese of Halberstadt, which ran along the River Bode.
From the hiking parking lot below the ruins, cross the Warme Bode and follow the signposted paths to Königsburg Castle. You can continue the hike via the northern route of the Harzer Hexenstieg to Trogfurther Brücke HWN 42.
You can also continue along the southern route of the Harzer Hexenstieg to Rappbodeblick Trautenstein HWN 56 and Trageburg HWN 52.
