The Luisenburg ruins (352 m above sea level) are located south of Blankenburg behind the Great Castle in the direction of the sawmill pond on an elongated sandstone ridge.

The Luisenburg was built in 1728 as a lookout castle for Duchess Christine Luise and named after her. It was a single-storey half-timbered building with an octagonal hall surrounded by 8 small rooms. The building was demolished in 1945 due to dilapidation. However, remains of the walls and stairs still give an idea of its appearance.
There is a viewing pavilion on the Luisenburg, to which the stamp box is also attached. From there you have an excellent view of the Blankenburg district of Cattenstedt.
The best starting point is the guest parking lot at the Small Castle. From there, take the middle path through the castle park, climbing steadily towards the large castle and follow the signposted hiking trails from the former horse stables.
On the way back, you can visit the Great Castle and then take the path downhill from the viewing platform to the Obere Mühle inn. The stamp box Baroque Gardens HWN 78 is attached to the inn. You can return to the parking lot through the Baroque Gardens.
