Stamping point 136 / Eckersprung

The Eckersprung (890 m above sea level), the source of the Ecker, is located at a resting place directly on the Goetheweg, which leads slightly uphill from the Torhaus to the Brocken.

The Ecker takes in numerous streams from the moors below the Brocken, such as the Königsbach, the Morgendbrodsbach and the Abbé, and then flows into the Eckertalsperre. After leaving the dam, it flows through the idyllic, partly deeply incised Eckertal valley and flows into the Oker near the village of Wiedelah in its lower course, which largely corresponds to the state border between Saxony-Anhalt and Lower Saxony.

The stamp box is located in the refuge at the rest area. If you don’t want to follow the Goetheweg from Eckersprung to the Brocken, you can return to the Torfhaus via the Dreieckiger Pfahl HWN 168, the Hopfensäcke and the Abbegraben.
