The „Obere Hahnebalzer Teich“ is part of the World Heritage Site of the Upper Harz Water Regal and is also a popular swimming pond in summer due to the cleanliness of the water. The 8‑metre-high dam was built in the 17th century and dammed the pond over a length of 130 meters.

It is best to park in one of the two designated hiking parking lots at the Prinzenteich pond and walk along the Harzer Försterstieg trail directly to the stamp site. The spot invites you to linger and rest with a view over the crystal-clear water. You can continue the hike to HWN 131 Kaysereiche.
