The Dicke Tannen stamping station (435 m above sea level) is located at a resting place on the Wolfsbach stream in the forest area between Hohegeiß and Zorge.

The „Dicken Tannen“, which gave the forestry site its name, are actually spruces that are over 300 years old. There are currently around 30 of them still standing, some with a trunk circumference of up to 5 meters.
Several signposted hiking trails lead to the Dicken Tannen from both Hohegeiß and Zorge. The „Neuer Teich“ hiking parking lot on the road from Braunlage to Zorge is also a good starting point. From there, a hiking trail leads past the pond into the Wolfsbachtal valley and on to the „Dicken Tannen“.
