Hand hält Heft mit gesammelten Stempeln

Rules of the game

  • The hiking pass is issued in your name and is non-transferable.
  • You collect the stamps for the hiking badges of the various performance levels in your passport.
  • The acquisition of the hiking badge is not time-bound, so collecting stamps can extend over several years – depending on your personal possibilities.

Collect stamps

You will find the stamp points at 222 places of interest in the Harz Mountains. They are located at forest restaurants, refuges and interesting viewpoints, at geological features and historical sites. The stamps are in weatherproof dark green stamp boxes, which you will quickly recognize by their typical appearance.

The locations of the stamping points can be found in the pass and on our official Harzer Wandernadel hiking maps.

The aim is to collect stamps from different stamping stations. Each stamping point or the corresponding stamp impression is therefore only counted once and only counted once for each achievement badge. However, the stamps already collected will count towards the next higher badge.

If, despite the best maintenance, a stamp is not available or stamping is not possible due to weather conditions, it is sufficient to note the identification number of the stamp box (on the inside of the front flap) and the location in a stamp field. This will also be recognized as proof.

Pin the hiking pin

You can have the achievement of a performance level confirmed by acquiring the corresponding hiking pin.
As the routes between the individual stamp points differ in length and difficulty, the „Harzer Wandernadel“ is not only an offer for ambitious hikers, but also for families or senior citizens.

Children in particular quickly become enthusiastic about the stamp hunt and enjoy accompanying their parents or grandparents on stamp tours. Whether it’s a challenging mountain tour or a relaxed walk in the forest, the Harz Hiking Needle has something for every mood and every age. We have developed the „Hiking Prince and Princess“ award for this purpose, which you receive for collecting just 11 stamps.
